Baamiya Tholhi Mashuni

500 grams ladies finger (bamiya tholhi)

1 tbsp oil

2 cans tuna in oil (throw the oil, and heat the tuna flakes on a pan till it becomes dry and flaky)

1 coconut finely scraped

1 big onion (finely chopped)

Juice of ½ lemon

1 red chillie (githeyo mirus)

¼ tspn fresh ginger paste

Salt to taste

10 curry leaves (chopped finely)


  1. Wash the ladies fingers. Tap them dry. Cut into fine pieces
  2. Heat a wok; add the chopped ladies finger, oil, ½ tspn salt. Stir fry till the ladies finger is well cooked.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix onion, chilies, juice of lemon, ginger paste, salt, curry leaves. Mix until the juices from the onion flows into the mixture. Now add the scraped coconut and mix thoroughly
  1. Add tuna flakes and cooked ladies finger and mix gently.
  2. Serve with roshi.

This is a delicious variation to the usual mashuni we eat with roshi.
